Schizandra -Schisandra chinensis

Schizandra is documented in early Chinese texts as a superior herb capable of promoting overall well-being and enhancing bodily vitality.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
The Chinese say that schizandra berries have all five flavors (sweet, sour, bitter, hot, salty) and have long consumed them as a food. Average doses of herbal preparations are considered safe and nontoxic. Mild side effects may include indigestion and skin rash. Schizandra may promote contractions of the uterine muscles and thus should not be used by pregnant women.

Suggested Dosage

Schizandra Powdered Berries
Take 1-3 grams, 1/4 to 1 teaspoons up to twice daily.
Use mixed with juice or milk, or as directed by an herbal practitioner.

Schizandra Whole Berries
Delicious as a snack food and can be eaten as desired or as directed by a herbal practitioner.
